COACH DON SHOWALTER

COACH DON SHOWALTER

Coach Showalter’s first coaching job was a head coaching position at Lone Tree Community School in Iowa. Over the course of 40 years, he coached at few very successful high school programs, while producing many college level players and building a reputation of a high school basketball legend. Amon other things, Showalter coached in the McDonald’s High School All-America Game & Jordan Brand Classic All-Star Games.

Becoming the USA Basketball Youth & Sport Development coach director in May 2016, Showalter is a 10-time USA Basketball gold medalist head coach who served as head coach of USA men’s U16 and U17 national teams from 2009-2022. In recognition of his leadership, he was named as a co-recipient of the 2018 USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year award as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee 2012 Volunteer Coach of the Year.
